Check out Autumn. Tartan, Plaid classics and Kick out Kilts

Of course tartan has always been around, in the frugal sixties mini skirts were handmade in Black Watch tartan. As this tartan is predominantly Black, Green & Blue girls then had a choice of three outfits just by switching the colour of tights and polo neck sweaters. By the seventies Vivienne Westwood had fashioned tartan for the new Punk revolution. Today Japanese designer, Junya Watanabe has teamed up with Stuart Veivers to produce a capsule collection of jeans, jackets and skirts fusing swatches and patches in Denim, Tartan, Tweed and Leather. To keep the rebel Punk ethos you still need a black classic leather motorcycle jacket. Victoria Beckham, always ahead of the fashion pack, has already been seen looking fabulous in a cute dark tartan mini kilt. This Katrin Kilt from Monsoon was recently featured in Vogue. Want to join the Tartan Army? Check out just a few of the on-trend pieces below.

The above vintage-inspired Catarina check coat from Monsoon is utterly charming: with an empire line cut, pleated skirt and contemporary plaid design. Follow VB's style in this Warehouse Check Zip Skirt
