You don't have to be a member of the literary set or be in show business to look like a celebrity in 2009.  It's "lighting up" time on the High Street and online stores have made it easy for us common folk to join the glitterati for the festive season. Ultra glam pop stars like Cheryl Cole, Kylie, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Katie Perry, Pixie Lott, VV Brown, La Roux, Little Boots and Alexander Burke have brought some extra sparkle to our lives wearing a host of quirky outfits and accessories with embellishments such as glass tiles, coloured beads, frogging, oversize zips, studs, discs and sequins . Dresses, tops, tights, shoes and cocktail rings in jewel tones are still top sellers if you prefer to make a more demure entrance in "Precious Partywear". If you're not quite sure what colours fit the brief then be inspired by these vibrant stones Amethyst, Emerald, Garnet, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz. Diamonds are, of course, still a girls best friend and a pair of diamond stud earings will complete any outfit. Floaty, frilly, fringe, tassel and net details also feature strongly as well as girlie frocks in nude or Blush tones as seen on Aleshia Dixon, Dannii Minogue and Holly Willoughby. The 80s V-shape vibe continues with painterly masterpieces, graphic designs , asymetric dresses and sharp shoulders on sequin jackets, spencer jackets and waistcoats. An LBD is always in vogue and has been a classic wardrobe staple for decades. LBD style icons include today's No1 Fashionista, Victoria Beckham, and Audrey Hepburn, star of the 60s movie "Breakfast at Tiffanys" (©FFS 18/11/09)
